Whoever said that becoming a chef is just about cooking food was even more wrong than people eating their steak well-done. Cooking is all about creating an experience, an experience that delights the senses and touches the soul. As a chef, I constantly am on an emotional rollercoaster. There’s excitement, joy, frustration, and even sadness when something doesn’t turn out quite as planned. There’s tiredness and there never is rest, there are good days and bad days.

But such is our life, such is our profession, and we do it because we love it. There’s nothing more fulfilling than a full house with happy guests. There’s nothing more exciting than finding out that two extremely different ingredients can actually combine and create a burst of flavors that can blow your tastebuds.

For me, the love of cooking is what brought me to this profession, and it’s what keeps me going through the ups and downs. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of creating something delicious from scratch and sharing it with others.

As chefs, we are always looking for ways to express our creativity and individuality. Whether it’s experimenting with new ingredients or putting our own twist on classic dishes, we are constantly striving to push the boundaries of what’s possible.

But it’s not just about being creative. Cooking is also a way to connect with others and build relationships. Sharing a meal with someone is a universal way to show love and appreciation. As chefs, we have the privilege of bringing people together through food and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

The emotional rollercoaster of being a chef is not for everyone, but for those of us who are passionate about it, there’s nothing else we’d rather do. It’s a profession that challenges us, fulfills us, and allows us to express ourselves in a unique way.

Being a Chef is more than just a job or a profession, it’s a way of thinking. Imagine being at a grocery store and constantly asking your self if item ‘a’ would go well with item ‘b’, and never stop thinking of it until you actually try it.
